How to recruit active Clash of Clans players
Verify your clan so applications reach you, then write a listing that says who the clan is for rather than how good it is. Take applications into Discord where you already are, reply the same day, and watch donations and unused war attacks for the members you already have. Recruiting is cheaper when fewer people leave.

1. Verify the clan, once
Verification uses the API token in your in-game settings, which only the account holder can see. It links your Clash account to ClashScout and hands you the clan if you lead or co-lead it. Until a clan is claimed, applications sent through the site are held rather than delivered, so this is the step that turns the listing into a channel. 118 clans have done it. Verify a clan.
2. Write a listing that turns people away
Most recruiting copy is a sales pitch: active clan, friendly members, daily wars. It reads the same as every other clan's, so it filters nobody, and the applications it brings are a lottery.
A listing that works says who the clan is for. The town hall range you actually want, the language in chat, whether missing war attacks gets you kicked, how often you war, and what you do in CWL. Fewer people apply. More of them stay.
3. Take applications where you already are
A recruiting listing only pays off if somebody answers it. ClashScout can post each application into your Discord with the player's town hall, hero levels, trophies and war stars attached, and Accept and Reject buttons that work inside the server. That turns a decision that needed a laptop into one somebody makes at a bus stop.
You can also run /bump once a day in the ClashScout Discord to repost your ad in the recruiting channel.
4. Go and find players, do not only wait
The Looking for Clan board lists players who have said they want a clan, with their town hall and what they are looking for. Approaching a player who is already searching converts far better than hoping the right one finds your listing.
5. Keep the members you have
Every member who leaves is a member you have to recruit twice. People go quiet before they go: they stop using war attacks, stop donating, and stop opening the game for days at a time, usually a few weeks before they actually leave.
Watching that across 50 accounts by hand is the part every leader abandons. ClashScout's clan dashboard does it for you: last active per member, war attacks used and missed, raid weekends skipped, and how each player's attacks compare with the rest of your clan on the same kind of base. It is in testing with a handful of clans at the moment. If you want yours included, ask in the Discord.
Common questions
Where do I find players looking for a clan?
The Looking for Clan board on ClashScout lists players who have said they want a clan, with their town hall and what they are after. Discord recruiting servers work too. In both cases you approach them, which converts better than waiting to be found.
How quickly should I reply to an application?
The same day. A player applying to your clan has usually applied to several, and the first clan to answer generally gets them. Discord alerts with Accept and Reject buttons exist to make that a ten second job.
How do I stop recruiting the wrong people?
Put the disqualifiers in the listing. War attacks are compulsory, we speak English in chat, TH12 and up, that sort of thing. It reduces applications and raises the share of them you want to keep, which is the trade worth making.
How do I know a member is about to leave?
They go quiet before they go. A member who has not played in a week, has stopped using war attacks, or has quietly stopped donating is usually gone within the month. Checking that by hand across 50 members is the part people give up on, which is why ClashScout surfaces it for leaders.
