CWL League Is Coming Out of the Activity Score
A clan where almost nobody plays is just as likely to hold a CWL league as a thriving one. So the Activity Score is being rebuilt around what members actually do, rather than how strong the clan is.
Every clan on ClashScout carries an Activity Score out of 100. It exists to answer one question: if you join this clan, will anybody be there?
For most of this year the single biggest input to that number has been the clan's CWL league, worth 30 of the 100 points. It is being removed entirely.
Why
We checked whether CWL league actually tells you anything about a clan being alive. It does not.
Take every clan where fewer than a quarter of the roster has donated or received a single troop this season, which is about as close to dead as a clan gets. 96.4% of them still hold a CWL league. Among thriving clans, where more than 60% of the roster is active, the figure is 97.8%.
Under two points separate a dying clan from a healthy one. Ranking on CWL league told you which clans are good, which is a perfectly fair thing to want to know, but it is not the same question as which clans are alive, and the Activity Score is supposed to answer the second one.
War frequency has the same flaw for a different reason. It is self-reported, and 69% of clans select "Always" warring. A setting that more than two thirds of clans max out cannot separate anybody, so it is being cut right down.
What replaces it
The new score is built on what members actually do.
How many of your members played in the last 14 days. This becomes the core of it. It is a fraction rather than a total, so a 15-man clan is measured the same way as a 50-man one, and a big roster no longer scores well simply for being big.
Donations per member. Kept, and worth more than it was.
How recently the clan genuinely warred. Read from the war log rather than taken from a setting, for clans whose log is public.
Win streak and war frequency both survive as small tie-breakers.
Why "the last 14 days" is the hard part
Donations reset at the start of every Clash season. On the 2nd of the month every clan in the game looks dead, and by the 25th almost everyone looks active. Worse, a player who donated once on the 1st and never logged in again still counts as active for the rest of the month.
So we now record, per player, when they were last seen doing something: donating, receiving, gaining trophies, gaining experience, or upgrading their Town Hall. That does not reset with the season, and it cannot be carried by one donation three weeks ago.
If you want the manual version of the same instinct, we wrote about how to spot an active clan a while back. The score is catching up to it.
What this means for your clan
If your clan is genuinely active, your score holds or goes up.
If your clan sits in a high CWL league on past form but has gone quiet, it will fall. That is the entire point of the change.
There is nothing for you to do. No setting, no form, no re-verification. The score recalculates on its own.
Existing score history will be marked at the point of the change rather than rewritten, so your clan's trend line shows a step you can see and explain instead of a mystery.
When
About two weeks. A 14-day measurement needs 14 days of history before it means anything, and switching it on early would read zero for everybody and pull every clan on the site down at once.
We will post again when it lands. In the meantime, if you are recruiting, make sure your clan is listed as recruiting so the players looking for exactly this can find you.
