The ClashScout Bot Now Has 17 Alerts, and Each One Picks Its Own Channel
A live war board that rewrites itself, promotions and Town Hall upgrades, weekly donation and raid weekend summaries, and a setup panel that finally lives inside Discord.
The bot had six kinds of alert this morning. It now has seventeen, and the way you decide where they go has changed completely.
Everything below is live. Nothing new is switched on for you, so if you already have the bot connected, your server carries on exactly as it did until you choose otherwise.
Setup Now Happens Inside Discord
Until today, connecting a channel meant going to your dashboard, authorising a webhook, and typing a name for the channel yourself, because Discord's webhook flow never told us what the channel was actually called. Your dashboard showed a raw ID.
Run /notifications in your server now and you get a panel: a channel picker, then a list of every alert with the ones that channel already receives already ticked. Choose a channel, tick what belongs there, done. You need the Manage Server permission.
Picking a channel is what connects it. The bot creates the webhook itself, so you no longer have to go back to the website to add one.
One Alert, One Channel
An alert now lives in exactly one channel per server. Ticking war announcements on #war-room takes them out of wherever they were.
That is a real change from before, when the same alert could be switched on in two places and would post to both. That was almost never what anyone wanted, and the dashboard used to show a warning telling you to go and untick it. Now it simply cannot happen.
War Is Four Alerts, Not One
The old single war toggle covered preparation, battle day, the result and the post-war report together. They are now separate, so a channel can take the result without the prep-day noise.
Every clan already connected has all four switched on, so nothing about your war announcements has changed unless you want it to.
The Live War Board
This is the one worth switching on.
Instead of a trail of announcements, the war board is a single message that rewrites itself as the war goes. It carries your opponent, the war size, the state, both rosters as a Town Hall breakdown, live star and destruction counts, and during battle day a list of exactly who still owes attacks.
The countdowns are live Discord timestamps, so they tick down in your own timezone rather than being a number that was true when we posted it.
It follows CWL too. Each round gets its own board.
The Clan Feed
Four new alerts, all of which cost nothing extra to produce because they come out of the roster check the bot was already doing:
- Promotions and demotions, with the old role and the new one
- Town Hall upgrades, posted when a member finishes a new Town Hall
- Name changes, when someone renames their account
- Clan achievements, for clan level ups and war league promotions
Weekly Summaries
Donations. Top ten donators and everyone who gave nothing, as a real weekly figure rather than a season running total.
Raid weekends. Total loot, raids completed, your top five looters, and who left capital attacks unused. It separates people who attacked and stopped short from people who never showed up, because those are different conversations.
Town Hall Art
Alerts now render real Town Hall icons instead of printing "TH15". They show up in player lookups, application alerts, the member list, war rosters and the war board.
What This Means If You Are Already Connected
Nothing breaks. Your existing routing was carried across, war became four alerts with all four on, and the seven new alert types are off until you switch them on.
One thing to know: if you want to send an alert to a channel that has never been connected, the bot needs permission to create a webhook there. Servers that added the bot before today do not have that permission yet. Reconnect from your dashboard and it will ask for it.
