New on ClashScout: Find Family Friendly Clans
Clan leaders can now mark their clan as family friendly, and players can filter the Recruiting page down to just those clans. Useful if you're playing with your kids — or you'd just rather clan chat stayed clean.
Not everyone wants the same thing from clan chat. Some people are playing with their kids in the same room. Some are running a clan for a youth group or a school. And plenty of adults simply don't want to scroll through a wall of swearing every time they open the game.
Until now there was no way to tell any of that from a clan listing. You joined, you found out, and you left.
Clan leaders can now mark their clan as family friendly, and players can filter for it.
For Players
On the Recruiting page there's a new Family friendly only filter. Switch it on and the list narrows to clans whose leaders have claimed the label. The count next to it tells you how many clans you'll be left with before you press it.
It works alongside the Town Hall filters rather than replacing them, so you can ask for "family friendly clans recruiting TH13" and get exactly that. The filter is available on the Town Hall pages too — being scoped to one Town Hall doesn't make the question less relevant.
Clans that have claimed it also carry a green Family Friendly badge on their listing, so you can spot them while browsing normally.
For Clan Leaders
There's a new tick box on your clan listing in your dashboard, just below your recruitment note:
Family friendly clan — Tick this if your clan keeps chat clean — no swearing, all ages welcome. Players can filter the Recruiting page by it.
That wording is deliberate. Nothing verifies the claim, so without a shared definition every clan would read it differently and the filter would be worthless. If your clan keeps chat clean and welcomes all ages, tick it. If it doesn't, leave it — you're not penalised for it anywhere, you simply don't appear behind the filter.
An Honest Note on How This Works
This is self-declared. We don't monitor clan chat and we can't verify anyone's claim, so treat the badge as what a leader says about their clan rather than something we've checked. If you join a clan flying the badge and the chat is anything but, you can report it from the clan page.
We also don't display the opposite. There's no "not family friendly" marker anywhere — a clan that hasn't ticked the box just doesn't show up behind the filter. Most clans haven't ticked it, and that means nothing about them.
Coming Later, Maybe
Family friendly is the first of what could be several clan "vibe" labels — adults only, competitive, casual. We've deliberately started with one, because a filter nobody uses is worse than no filter at all. If this one gets used, more will follow.
